Boone County Public Library: Where Imagination Takes Flight
According to local informants and deed information, a local carpenter named Jess Kirkpatrick built this house for himself on Washington Street around 1925. A distinctive and well-preserved bungalow, this house features an asymmetrical facade with side-facing, jerkin-gable roof. The porch, placed off-center, has a clipped gable with casement windows. A small, jerkinheaded dormer provides visual balance.
