Boone County Public Library: Where Imagination Takes Flight
The Lampton School served the forgotten community of Kensington, which grew up along the Southern Railroad. Built on the Old Lexington Pike in the 1860s or 1870s, the front-gabled building has a center doorway and side walls pierced by tall, regularly spaced windows. Above the doorway was a plaque bearing the name of the school.
The Lampton School has recently been renovated after years of neglect, and now serves as a residence.
