Lampton School

bcplfusion.bcpl.org_repository_lampton_school.jpg The Lampton School served the forgotten community of Kensington, which grew up along the Southern Railroad. Built on the Old Lexington Pike in the 1860s or 1870s, the front-gabled building has a center doorway and side walls pierced by tall, regularly spaced windows. Above the doorway was a plaque bearing the name of the school.

The Lampton School has recently been renovated after years of neglect, and now serves as a residence.
