  • Forms can be picked up at any branch throughout the month, or they can be filled out online.

McConnell Conference 2010– Connecting with Characters Contest

Have you read any of John Green’s books (Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, and Looking for Alaska)?

John green will be a guest speaker at the McConnell Conference, and there will be a contest to win two tickets to the conference and a free dinner.

The contest is for any interested person who has read one of John Green’s book and task would be to write a letter to anyone of his characters explaining an emotional connection the entrant feels with that character.

The Contest Rules

  • Must be a character in one of John Green’s novels
  • Must be between 500 and 700 words
  • Can be typed or handwritten but illegibly handwriting will be disqualified
  • Must have entry form attached
  • Name must appear on the back of the letter, not the front
  • All entries are due to Dawn McMillan (Teen Librarian at the Main Branch) no later than December 1st.

  • Start time-9p.m.
  • End time-8a.m.
  • Brainstorming activity for the Lock-in
