  • The Boone County Court hears a murder charge against Ziba or Zedick Campfield for the beating death of a slave boy named Ned.
  • Aaron Burr again passes through Florence.
  • Tanner's Station is renamed Caledonia.
  • An Inspection Station is to be Established in Boone County for tobacco, hemp and flour on the lands of Zarah Tousey across the Ohio River from Lawrenceburg, Indiana.


  • General Charles Scott is elected to succeed Christopher Greenup as Governor.
  • Jefferson Davis, future president of the Confederacy, is born in rural Kentucky.

U.S. & World

  • In accordance with the timetable allowed by the U.S. Constitution, Congress outlaws the importation of slaves.
