 Constructed in the early 19th Century, the John Dempsey House is situated in the Mud Lick Valley on Risner Road.  The [[historic homes|house]] enjoys a secluded rural setting with a branch of the creek meandering through the property. ​ It is a substantial two-story log dwelling on the hall-parlor plan, with stout logs joined by half-dovetail notching.
