Youth Services Outreach

The Library Bus

Our Youth Services Outreach staff use the Library Bus to bring the library experience and resources into the community. In 2018, a new outreach vehicle was purchased to replace the Community Center on Wheels or CCoW (pronounced “cow”) that had been in operation since 2004. The library bus makes regular visits to early care and education centers, after-school programs, summer camps, and neighborhoods. Library staff deliver storytimes, enrichment activities, teacher resources, and library materials to over 40 facilities per month and an average of 1,300 people.

However, hundreds more are served when the bus participates in special events throughout the community.
