Earn Prizes for Reading Books!
Preschoolers (from birth to the start of kindergarten) and their caregivers are invited to participate in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Reading together is the most important activity to prepare children for school, regardless of age, and reading with grown-ups helps them build early literacy skills, knowledge of books, the alphabet, word sounds, and more!
It's Easy!
Reading 3 books a day adds up to 1,095 books in just one year! Each book takes about 5 minutes, and you can read favorites again and again! Need help starting?
Registration and Logging
Families can participate in two ways:
Beanstack App
Download the FREE Beanstack app and create an account, or sign into your existing account, to begin logging.
Paper Log
Print a Reading Log or visit any of our locations to receive a copy.
Milestone Rewards
Each time a child reaches a 100-book milestone, visit the Library for a small prize. All prizes must be picked-up from a BCPL location.
