1000 Books Before Kindergarten (birth-5 years)

All year!

Young readers earn milestone badges and prizes as they work towards reading 1000 books! Log progress in Beanstack or on a printable log. We encourage reading a favorite book several times because each reading counts! Questions? Email us at 1000books@bcpl.org.

Winter Reading (all ages)

January 1 to 31

Start the new year with a reading challenge! For every activity or book logged, you will earn an entry into the prize drawings. Place a mark on each activity you complete and track your reading on the back of the page. Maximum of 30 entries.

Prizes include: BCPL beanie and giftcards to Amazon, Biggby Coffee, Strong’s Pizza and Mai Tai.

Printable logs will be available during the Winter Reading Challenge.

Teentober (grades 6-12)

October 1 to 31

Calling all teens! Discover all the great things that the Library offers! Use the Beanstack Tracker App to log completed activities, which may include reading, attending a library program, or volunteering. After completing 10 activities, visit your local branch and collect your prize!

Summer Reading (all ages)

June 1 to July 31

Earn prizes as you log. The more you log, the more chances you earn to win a grand prize. Return all printed logs to the Library or enter in the Beanstack Tracker App by July 31.

Printable logs will be available during Summer Reading.

Beanstack

Beanstack is a website and mobile app that you use to track your reading throughout the year. Earn badges to commemorate your reading milestones. Use your Beanstack account to participate in library-sponsored reading challenges.
